Small “Poschtis” make it possible to travel along the emergency road between Lauchernalp and Fafleralp

Dear Guests,

Due to the current situation, access to our location is somewhat limited at the moment. At this time, you can only drive as far as Wiler. There, you can park your vehicle in the Lauchernalp parking lot for CHF 8.– per day.

From there, take the gondola up to Lauchernalp. From there, a PostBus will take you to the parking lot in front of the Gletscheralp. You can reach our hotel on foot after a walk of about 1 km. Please note that you must reserve a seat on the bus by 4:00 p.m. the day before at the latest.

Without a reservation, the bus may not run. If you missed the reservation deadline, you can purchase a ticket directly from the bus driver—provided there are still seats available. Please note that payment can only be made in cash using Swiss francs.

By public transport

Reach Fafleralp in a particularly eco-friendly way. Trains run hourly along the north-south Bern-Lötschberg-Simplon route to Goppenstein station—the gateway to the Lötschental. From there, take the local bus to Wiler. From Wiler, take the cable car up to Lauchernalp.

Once you arrive at Lauchernalp, take a moment to enjoy the wonderful view of the Lötschental mountains. Take a deep breath… and continue your journey of relaxation on the small local bus along the scenic route from the Lauchernalp mountain station to Fafleralp.

Our tip: Seating on the bus to Fafleralp is limited. Please plan your trip well in advance and purchase your ticket for the scenic ride to guarantee your seat! We’re happy to help you organize your trip.

By car

If you're coming from Bern, take the Kandersteg–Goppenstein car ferry and follow the road into the Lötschental valley all the way to Wiler. From the Rohnetal valley, turn north at Gampel/Steg into the Lötschental valley, where you'll follow the signs to Wiler. In Wiler, park your car directly at the cable car parking lot (day ticket CHF 8.00 per day) and take the cable car up to Lauchernalp.

As you ascend to Lauchernalp, you’ll leave the daily grind behind. Your vacation begins. Once you reach the top, take the small shuttle bus directly to the hotel. Please purchase your ticket in advance via the SBB App for this trip, as seating capacity on the small shuttle bus is limited!

Our tip: Make sure your luggage is easy to load and well-protected during transport.
